You have 18 to 68 seconds depending on the level and difficulty to navigate from your starting tile to the castle. This is not a leisurely puzzle. Because tiles disappear on a timer and red enemies patrol the grid starting at level five, the safest route five seconds from now may not be safe right now. Track enemy movements and glance one step beyond your next move.
If a tile you need has already vanished, you do not have to find a detour, as sometimes waiting a couple of seconds for it to return is faster than rerouting around a lava heavy area.
With only 18 to 68 seconds on the clock, backtracking costs you disproportionately. Favor routes that consistently move you closer to the castle, even if they are not perfectly straight lines.
Earn freeze, reveal, or shield power-ups by hitting milestones like clearing levels or earning three stars. Activate them using the control bar below the grid during a run to freeze time, clear fog, or survive a single collision.
